In February I was invited out to play lead trombone for a week, touring with the Metropole Orkest – an absolute dream come true!

This ensemble is the world’s leading pop and jazz orchestra and every section of the orchestra really is incredible. From playing in this genre with many of the UK’s major symphony orchestras, you can really tell when you’re in the middle of this orchestra that they work hard to master these genres, and they really are at the top of their game.

This tour was with Richard Bona and the incredible Vince Mendoza directing. I couldn’t have hoped for a more amazing week to play with this orchestra and they all made me feel very welcome. A week to remember!
