In January 2020 a handful of musicians flew out to Reykjavik to Damon Albarn’s house and recording studio to write and record his new album. Being January, the daylight hours were limited, and we arrived at his house at 8am every morning, to watch the sun rise, and we left when the sun had set in the early evening. The album is inspired by the scenery and landscapes of Iceland, and the view from his house over fjords was just stunning. An incredible experience, and his album came out in November 2021.
