This week has been extremely busy. I was invited to play guest principal trombone to record the soundtrack to the second series of Children’s BBC Television Series ‘Wizards vs Aliens’. The Music is written by Sam Watts and like a lot of TV and Film music there’s a lot of long loud passages, so it was a lot of work, but extremely enjoyable.
The next day I had a busy day of meetings about separate charity projects at The Christie Hospital, which I’ll talk about in a future blog entry soon.
And the following day I was invited to play guest principal trombone with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales to record excerpts from seven different Requiems for a BBC Four Television Documentary. This involved playing large bore tenor, medium bore tenor and alto trombone all day, so it certainly kept me on my toes! The setting was St.Mary’s Church in Swansea (see photo), with Edward Gardner conducting and will broadcast on BBC4 soon..
