Fours days of work on the Royal Variety Performance meant some long days ahead. This year it was held in Liverpool as the city was ‘European Capital of Culture’ in 2008.

The show was very ‘Beatles’-based beginning with us playing ‘Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds’ with Seal and the whole show ending playing ‘Let it Be’ with Bon Jovi. The line-up not only included Seal and Bon Jovi, but the likes of Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, James Blunt, Katherine Jenkins, Teatro, Enrique Inglesias and it was brilliant to hang out with the stars such as Russell Brand at the aftershow party when we had all performed in front of her majesty the Queen and her Royal party that evening. Watch a clip of the show here:
